Reconciliation Week is bookended by the recollection of two key dates in the shared story of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people: 27 May marks the 1967 Referendum in which 93% voted ‘yes’ to Indigenous people being recognised as citizens. 3 June marks Mabo Day, in which the idea of Terra Nullius (unoccupied land) was legally overturned.
