Community Groups

A number of community groups (as listed below) use the facilities available at St Andrew’s Church. If you are interested in using the hall or Undercroft on a regular basis please contact the office.

Kinderballet™ – The aim of Kinderballet™ is to introduce the basics of Classical Ballet through imagination and creative movement. ‘Preschool Ballet’ is simply ballet aimed at the preschool level. Kinderballet™ is a ballet program developed specifically for children aged between 2 and 5 years, as an introduction to Classical Ballet. The challenge with teaching this age group is to hold their attention while introducing them to basic movement principals. For more information click

Mah Jong – Beginners and Intermediate classes are held at St Andrew’s Undercroft during school term. Beginners’ classes run for 8 weeks. For more information on times and dates please call Judy on 0404 893 905.

Playball Indooroopilly provides Sports Coaching for children aged 2 – 8 years. The sports include soccer, cricket, hockey, volleyball, baseball, basketball, rugby and tennis. Playball meets in St Andrew’s Parish Hall each morning Monday – Friday and in St Andrew’s Undercroft on Saturday mornings. Indooroopilly Al-Anon Family Group meets Monday 7pm – 8.30pm at St Andrew’s Parish Hall.  Al-Anon Family Groups, including Alateen, offer understanding and support to families and friends of problem drinkers. For more information please go to or phone 1300 252 666.

The Taoist Tai Chi Society of Australia is a not-for-profit volunteer-based charitable organisation which offers Tai Chi for health and well-being. The slow-motion moves of Tai Chi help develop balance, strength, flexibility, coordination and circulation. Tai Chi is also a moving meditation which helps to focus the mind, reduce stress and improve the ability to concentrate. Classes are held in the Parish Hall and at other Brisbane locations – for further information refer or email

Indooroopilly Toastmasters provides a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth. We believe that people learn best whilst enjoying themselves in a fun and supportive environment. We meet in the St Andrew’s Hall on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. Visitors are always most welcome.
